Spanish That You Can Use

Friday, August 19th, 2011

The Pimsleur Spanish course that is offered on 9 CD’s of 30 minutes each, is a course that will soon have you speaking effective conversational Spanish that you can use everyday. There are what Dr Pimsleur calls "function words" that are to be learned and repeated, but it is done in a step by step manner that makes it all very easy to digest. Dr Pimsleur says that the average adult cannot concentrate more than 30 minutes at a time which is why he sticks to the 30 minutes. He also says that you cannot learn a language effectively by learning words like a Parrot. You have to be able to make it real and put it into a conversational Spanish in order to learn. The step by step audio CD’s is something that you could listen to while going to work and sitting in traffic. Or you can listen and learn while sitting on a bus or train. The result will be that you are soon able to speak a practical conversational Spanish.

Quotes for My Dear

Friday, August 12th, 2011

In making up a little Valentine’s Day gift for my girlfriend, I’ve been looking up several different love quotes. I want to shower her locker at school with little quotes that are on slips of printed floral paper. It’s nice to have friends who promise that they’re not going to make fun of this act; I say, we’ll see whether or not they do when it actually happens. But in reality, I really don’t care. I love my girlfriend and she loves me, and I don’t really care who knows it. I think that so many profound things have been said about romance in the past that you can find some really powerful quotes out there, and they are universal in the sense that if you think about it, you can feel a similar way to the idea that the quotes express. So it’s like finding an elegant translation to say what you really feel.

What is Communication? is It a Gift from God!

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

What Is Communication? Is it the exchange between a husband and wife; the manager and his employee; the master and its dog; the speaker and his or audience; or a bird to its mate? Does it also exist between man and God? If the Bible has to say about it, there are many instances that it happened and Christians and non-Christians a like believe it still does exist today and it will forever be. Now if God, according to the Bible, and His people can’t seem to communicate effectively with each other, how is it that we’re expected to do better? God may have seen the futility of one way traffic of communicating and sent His son to make it into a two way system; now it works. Before that; it’s killing, looting, cataclysms, war, fire and brimstones and so on. Aren’t we blest that we can communicate without killing and maiming each other, or God’s watery or fiery interference?

Handicrafts, Furniture, Oxcarts, and Spanish Schools in Costa Rica

Monday, May 9th, 2011

One of the places that students of Spanish Schools in Costa Rica have the opportunity of visiting would be the Poas and Barva Volcanoes. A side trip that students can take after visiting the said volcanoes would be the nearby village of Sarchi, a picturesque place where many artisans live and produce some of Costa Rica’s finest crafts and souvenirs. As to be expected from such a place, it is usually filled with tourists buying a variety of trinkets and seeing a “carreta” or a traditional oxcart. The “carreta” is an item of historical significance for the country as it used to be the only method by which coffee farmers can bring their produce to market. Other than oxcarts, visitors of Sarchi can buy a lot of other items such as traditional pottery, hand-carved wooden items, bowls and trays, paintings, tables, wind chimes, masks, and other souvenirs. Visitors can even watch artisans work on new projects, and students can practice their Spanish by asking about the items and making a purchase.

Learning a New Language? Software Can Boost Your Skills

Friday, May 6th, 2011

If you’re looking to learn a new language then you should definitely get some software to help you out if you can’t afford the time or money to join a physical class. The thing you should look for in the best language learning software is the level of immersion provided. Some programs are definitely much better than others. Those really cheap ones that you can play in your car, for example, are not going to give you the level of immersion recommended by most language professors. There are a few high end language learning software tools out there, but in our opinion you don’t need to pay all the money for Rosetta Stone. It’s a good program, but I sometimes found it confusing and difficult. In other words, sometimes I do need a bit of English guidance. There are some other programs out there that are just as good, such as the Rocket Languages series.

My Family and I Recently Relocated to Another Country

Friday, October 15th, 2010

My family and I recently opened a business in Spain but some of us had problems with the language so we all enrolled in localspanish courses in granada to help us with our Spanish and grasp the local dialect. We were amazed at what we did not know and how much we learned. Learning the language helped prosper our business and it helped us appreciate the language courses we took. Our business has been successful; we have opened three more stores and are planning to continue growing as long as the lovely people of Spain will have us in their country. It is important to learn a new language as it opens the world to new possibilities, friendships, and travel. I highly recommend it and will advise everyone to learn a new language to open their minds and embrace a new culture and people and food.
