Does Scotchgarding Your Carpets Really Help Protect Them?
I’ve talked with many people who question whether or not Scotchgard is worth applying to their carpets. Whether it be in tandem with brand new carpets, or used after cleaning with one of the various types of a carpet cleaner, Scotchgard can be a nice asset.
If you’ve ever used this protect ant on your furniture, then you know how it can help prevent a spill from soaking into the material on your couch or chair. Well, the same applies to your carpets as well. It adheres to the fibers and prevents moisture from soaking into them.
Another nice benefit is that it can increase wear and tear due to the protective coating. For example, sand, dirt and grit will tear down the fibers in your carpet, but if you have Scotchgard on it then it can help keep the grit from destroying the fiber. So, these are just a couple of reasons why I like this protectant.
